Vice Chancellor Dr K.N. Madhusoodanan inaugurated the one-day national workshop on ‘Innovative Trends in Polymer Science’, organized by the Department of Polymer Science and Rubber Technology, CUSAT.
The Vice Chancellor said in his inaugural speech that there should be research on the potential use of plastic in more useful areas in the context of the ban. Prof. Thomas Kurien, Prof. Sunil K Narayanankutty and Prof. Honey John also spoke at the function. Dr Balagopal N. Nair, R&D Manager, Nortek Japan., Dr P.S. Sankararamakrishnan, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore and Prof. Jacob Philip, Dean Amal Jyothi College of Engineering, Kottayam, delivered lectures on the different aspects of the topic. Presentation of research papers and student art programmes were also held in connection with the workshop.
