  • Demolition of Flats at Maradu was Painful: Governor

By NE Reporter on March 7, 2020

    KOCHI:
The demolition of flats at Maradu was really painful but was an eye opener to all to follow the laws and upkeep the environment. Everyone has to adhere to the rules and regulations set by authorities and it has alerted the builders in general to be cautious while developing new projects. The builders should be able to satisfy the interests of their customers, Governor Arif Mohammed Khan urged while inaugurating the two days State Conference of CREDAI Kerala.

Real estate developments have great potential in creating job opportunities but lack of clarity in many areas and hostile regulations by central and state governments created uncertainty in the industry. CREDAI has a great role in urbanisation and limited availability of experts is a challenge, he said. S Krishnakumar, Chairman of CREDAI Kerala presided over the meeting. The governments should give space for reconciliation than demolition, he urged.

Confusion in implementing the CRZ notification is the major challenge faced by real estate developers in Kerala, exclaimed Nagaraj Reddy, Vice President, CREDAI South. The new generation has all the facilities available but do not know where to begin and industrialisation is the only key to growth of Kerala.

Irresponsible and aimless way of drafting laws and regulations has disrupted the incessant progress of the State, he pointed out. Though the State has all the positive factors like tremendous infrastructure, connectivity and high literacy, the lack of leadership who do not know how to make use of it kills the drive, said Anuj Puri, Chairman ANAROCK Group while delivering key note address. Prakash Challa and S N Raghuchandran Nair, former Vice Presidents of CREDAI National and M V Antony, Secretary General, CREDAI Kerala also addressed the gathering.
