Muthoot M George Foundation, the CSR wing of Muthoot Finance Ltd, today felicitated 40 talented students with scholarships to pursue their professional education. Scholarship is provided to students studying MBBS, Engineering, BSc Nursing and B.Com. CUSAT Vice Chancellor Professor (Dr) K.S. N Madhusudan inaugurated Muthoot M George Higher Education Scholarship 2020-21 Program.
The Muthoot M George Foundation plays a vital role in shaping the new generation by providing scholarships to deserving students to pursue excellence and knowledge in the field of higher education. This will help them to complete their education and contribute to the society as good citizens of the country, said CUSAT Vice Chancellor Professor (Dr) K.S. N Madhusudan.
The Foundation aims to help financially disadvantaged students to complete professional courses without financial obligations. Muthoot Group has been using its Social Responsibility Fund to provide educational assistance to children from 10th class onwards from economically backward families. Apart from Kerala, it is providing scholarships to thousands of students in Karnataka, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Mumbai and Goa, said George Alexander Muthoot, Managing Director, Muthoot Group.
The Muthoot M George Foundation Scholarship is awarded to students from families with an annual income less than 2 lakh and who have obtained at least 80% marks in Medicine, Engineering, BSc Nursing and BCom. The amount of scholarships are Rs 2,00,000 each for 10 MBBS students, Rs 1,00,000 each for 10 BTech students, Rs 1,00,000 each for 10 BSc Nursing students and Rs 45,000 each for 10 B Com students.
