PALAKKAD:
Marking the successful completion of 1000 Kidney transplant surgeries, Aster MIMS, Calicut launches Jeevanam-2023, an initiative providing free kidney transplant surgeries for underprivileged people across India. Shafi Parambil, MLA, Palakkad constituency announced Jeevanam -2023 in ‘Karuthalaayavarkk Karuthaloode’ a get-together of kidney transplant recipients and donors from Palakkad district.
“We often come across posts and posters seeking help for transplants in the media. But a lot of people in our community are not able to cover that treatment, which costs lakhs. With Aster MIMS’s low cost and free transplants for financially backward patients, it is amazing how they are able to help those in need. Aster was an active leader during and after COVID in many similar initiatives. Jeevanam-2023 is one such initiative which will be a huge relief when so many people are in need of such assistance,” said Shafi Parambil MLA, announcing Jeevanam-2023. ” Koode- 2023, the initiative by Thanal Vadakara and Aster MIMS, offering free lifesaving surgeries for 250 children under 18 years across India is the noblest form of love for children.” He added.
” It is inspiring to see the happiness of many patients whose lives were saved, providing kidney transplant surgeries at the right time at affordable cost and it makes us more complacent continuing these initiatives and Jeevanam-2023 and Koode-2023 are a fine example of this,” said Lukman Ponmadath- Chief Operating Officer- Aster MIMS, Calicut.
“Koode-2023 is an ongoing project where we support 250 children under the age of 18 from unprivileged families in Kerala & other states for their life-saving surgeries including born marrow & organ transplant surgeries at free of cost,” said Dr. Noufal Basheer, Deputy CMS, Aster MIMS, Calicut.
Koode-2023 is the second phase of the scheme ‘Koode’ jointly ventured by Thanal Vadakara, Aster Volunteers, Global CSR arm of Aster DM Healthcare and Aster MIMS, Calicut to provide free life-saving surgeries for underprivileged children.
