

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:
Kerala Tourism’s online contest #MyKeralaStory has received more than 500 registrations for shorts/reels from fans across the world, with videos highlighting the state’s panoramic landscape, distinct wildlife and cultural heritage.
Participants can take part in the contest by sending in vertical videos spanning from 10 seconds to one minute, showcasing subjects such as Kerala’s history, art-forms, cuisine, festivals and celebrations. One can submit a maximum of five videos. There is no age limit.
The last date to apply for the contest, which began on December 15, is January 31, 2023.
Tourism Minister P.A. Mohamed Riyas, noting that the response has been “overwhelming”, said the reels/shorts contest aims to identify unexplored destinations across the state and bring them to public attention.
Kerala Tourism Director Prem Krishnan S. termed the contest as a “novel initiative” to propagate the state’s travel potentials by leveraging possibilities of social media.
The best 30 videos will get prizes, and will be featured on Kerala Tourism’s official YouTube channel. Aspiring participants can register on www.keralatourism.org/contest/my-kerala-story and upload their videos in MOV and MP3 formats.
