Dr Manocha was felicitated with the award by Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das for introducing a string of passenger-friendly IT initiatives, which have resulted in the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) achieve a turnover of Rs 1,506 crore in 2015-16 as compared to Rs 1,141 crore in 2014-15, registering a growth of 32 per cent.
The award was presented during the ‘2nd eJharkhand’ event yesterday, which was organised by the Department of IT and e-Governance to highlight the pro-people initiatives launched by the state government.
Dr Manocha was also a key speaker at the session “PSUs for Driving Economic Growth’, where he made a strong case for Public Sector Undertakings to leverage technology for giving a fillip to the country’s economic progress and creating new e-Governance systems within their organisations.
