KOCHI:
Aster DM Healthcare, one of the largest integrated healthcare providers in India, will be launching the largest Women & Children Hospital in Hyderabad. This 300-bed state-of-the-art facility will cater to the unique healthcare needs of children and women of all ages. The hospital will offer specialized services in obstetrics, comprehensive gynecological care and complete neonatal & paediatric care. Aster DM Healthcare will be making an investment of around Rs. 220 crores in this facility spreading over 3 lakh sq ft. Phase 1 of the project is expected to be completed and fully functional by mid – FY26.
The Aster Women & Children Hospital will offer specialized medical services such as obstetrics, gynecology, pediatrics, neonatal care, and reproductive health. It will feature 100 critical care beds and 10 modular operating theatres, along with luxury birthing suites. To provide advanced maternal and pediatric care, the hospital will incorporate high-end technology for specialty services, including a Cath lab, CT, MRI, ECMO, IVUS, EBUS, and ERCP. Additionally, it will offer 24/7 emergency care.
Dr. Azad Moopen, Founder & Chairman, Aster DM Healthcare said, “Aster Women & Children Hospital Hyderabad will set new benchmarks in obstetric and pediatric healthcare, offering a wide array of super-specialty services. The new hospital is in line with the group’s mission and commitment to delivering quality and affordable healthcare to the large population of not only Hyderabad but all of South India. The focus on the unique healthcare needs of the children and women underscores our dedication to addressing the healthcare needs. The hospital will offer cutting edge multidisciplinary women and child care that will be steered by highly skilled medical professionals dedicated to providing world-class care and highest safety standards.”
Establishing a new Women & Child hospital in Hyderabad offers a strategic opportunity to address the growing healthcare needs of a rapidly expanding population, driven by urbanization and an increasing middle class with greater disposable income. As a recognized healthcare hub, Hyderabad draws patients from across the region, making it an ideal location for specialized maternal and pediatric care. The proposed project is situated in a catchment area with a predominantly young migrant population, which further increases the demand for comprehensive women’s and children’s healthcare services. With limited options for full-fledged Women & Child hospitals offering high-end super-specialty services, this project is well-positioned to serve an essential market need while capitalizing on the city’s robust infrastructure and medical tourism potential.
Aster DM Healthcare already has a presence in Hyderabad with Aster Prime Hospital, a 158-bed multi-specialty hospital situated in the strategic location of Ameerpet at Hyderabad. Aster DM Healthcare continues to expand within the dynamic Indian healthcare sector, with numerous innovations and unique services on the horizon. These endeavors align with the group’s mission to provide exceptional care that meets the evolving needs of our patients. The Group’s Centres of Excellence (COE) are an amalgamation of experienced doctors, state-of-the-art technology, and the highest level of patient care and treatment. The introduction of this facility reaffirms Aster DM Healthcare’s unwavering commitment to advancing medical standards and enhancing patient outcomes.
The Company plans to add ~2000 beds by FY27 taking the total bed tally in India to 6800+ through the organic route and will further look for expansion through the inorganic route as well to achieve its aim of becoming the top 3 integrated healthcare providers in India along with a strong presence of labs and pharmacies in the geographies that Aster has a presence in. The plan encompasses a mix of brownfield and greenfield projects, including the upcoming Aster Capital in Trivandrum, and Aster MIMS Kasargod and adding bed capacity to the existing hospitals. The Company will also be eyeing potential markets such as Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh. The capital allocation for this expansion is in the range of 1200cr.
