Aster Medcity, one of India’s leading healthcare facilities, announced the launch of the Aster Women’s Heart Centre.
The Women’s Heart Centre of Excellence is a first-of-its-kind facility in the region, designed to empower women’s heart health by providing comprehensive and personalized care for women with heart disease. The centre will offer a wide range of services, including prevention, diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation, and research, all tailored to meet the unique needs of women.
The key components of the centre are : Specialised management of heart attack in women ,Cardio vascular diseases in pregnancy , Grown up congenital heart disease , Preventive Heart check ups for women of with a focus on primary and secondary prevention, Post Partum and Post Menopausal Heart Health , Cardiovascular health in women with rheumatological disorders Nutritional assessment and physical rehabilitation for women for primary and secondary prevention of cardiovascular disorders and Cardiovascular Health assessment and management in women with neurological disorders and mental disorders.
“Heart disease is a leading cause of death among women in India Recognizing symptoms and risks, making lifestyle changes and getting timely care can save many a woman’s life and thus the family and society at large. I am extremely happy to launch this centre which will play a crucial role in empowering women’s heart health,” said Sheela Grace Kochouseph Chittilappilly, Founder, Chairperson & Managing Director V Star Creations Pvt Ltd.
The centre will be staffed by a team of expert cardiologists, other healthcare professionals from various departments who specialize in women’s heart health such as Dr Teffy Jose – Cardiology , Dr Annu Jose – Grown up Congenital Heart Disease Specialist, Dr Zareena A Khalid ; Dr S.Mayadevi Kurup – Obstetrics and Gynaecology , Dr Jyothi Lakshmi Nair – Anaesthesiology , Dr Nayantara Shenoy – Rheumatology , Dr Namitha M Das – Psychiatry and Counselling , Susan Itty – Nutrition and Dietetic and Dr. Tintu – Physical medicine and Rehabilitation.
“According to the global statistics of World Heart Federation, One in three deaths in women are caused by Cardiovascular diseases. Also 13 times more women die of Cardiovascular diseases than of breast cancer. It is alarming. Aster’s Women Heart Centre is a single platform to meet all the cardiovascular needs of a woman right from adolescence , through pregnancy and throughout their lifespan led by women cardiologists who understand a woman’s life” said Dr. Teffy Jose, Consultant- Interventional Cardiology, Aster Medcity, Kochi. “We also provide focused specialised care for cardiovascular diseases in pregnancy through the newly launched Cardio – Obstetrics Clinic and prevention of heart diseases by providing education and support services to make individualised decisions relating to a woman’s heart health,” She added.
