THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:
As part of National Technology Day 2018 Celebrations, the Centre for Innovation in Science and Social Action (CISSA), organized a seminar on “Technological Advances in Sustainable Transportation – Electrical Mobility and Use of Renewable Energy.
The seminar was held in partnership with the Agency for Non-conventional Energy and Rural Technology (ANERT), Government of Kerala, on 14th May 2018 at the Conference Hall of ANERT, Thiruvananthapuram. This programme was sponsored by Kerala State Council for Science, Technology and Environment (KSCSTE).
Experts who presented papers at the seminar opined that the future transportation will be electric vehicles. The switch from petroleum based transportation to electrical must be linked in such a way that the energy used for electrical vehicular transport must be from renewable energy. Otherwise, the net result will be reduced pollution in cities while increased demand for conventional energy will result in more emissions from power plants.
Padma Mahanti, Director, Dept. of Environment & Climate Change (DoECC), Govt. of Kerala inaugurated the National Technology Day 2018 Celebrations. The presidential address was delivered by Dr.R.Harikumar, Director, ANERT.
Binuja Thomas, Senior Scientist, Kerala State Council for Science, Technology & Environment (KSCSTE), Dr.C.K.Peethambaran, Director, CISSA, Dr.K.Murugan, Director, CISSA spoke on the occasion.
