THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:
Kerala Chief Minister, Pinarayi Vijayan, will be releasing the “Handbook on e-Governance 2018”, prepared by the International Centre for Free and Open Source Software (ICFOSS), on June 20th.
The Handbook has been conceived and consolidated by ICFOSS, an institution under the state Department of Electronics & Information Technology (E&IT), as a reference manual of various services of the department. It will guide the users in obtaining information about all the Government Orders, policies, guidelines and framework documents of various schemes of the Department of E&IT.
The electronic version of the handbook will also be released at the function to be held at the Durbar Hall, Government Secretariat, at 3 PM. On the occasion, the Chief Minister will also present to the State the “Malayalam Spell Checker”, jointly developed by AU-KBC Research Centre, Anna University, and ICFOSS, which is the first of its kind in Open Source Software in the language, which will help the Malayalee online community in many ways.
ICFOSS works closely with Department of E&IT to bring in various FOSS initiatives of the State to its mainstream.
