  • In a first, Kasaragod to host KSUM’s 50-hr Hackathon

By NE Reporter on January 29, 2019

    KASARGOD:
Seeking to create prototype of ideas that offer technical solutions for social problems and business opportunities, Kasaragod in north Kerala is gearing up to host its first-ever hackathon in the district next month.

Jointly organized by Kerala Startup Mission (KSUM) and “Kasaracode” startup community, the three-day programme will be held at Wintouch Palm Meadows, Manya, Kasaragod, from February 8 to 10.

Startups, developers, students, innovators and tech enthusiasts can participate in the 50-hour hackathon. The winners will be awarded Rs 25,000, besides offering incubation support, cloud credits, and access to various funds. They will also get an opportunity to directly apply for Rs 12 lakh Idea grant given by KSUM.

Participants will be able to pitch their idea on the opening day. Guided by experts, they will be asked to create the prototype of their ideas within 50 hours. Mentors will be available throughout the event to help them build their MVP (Minimal Viable Product).

After 50 hours, the ideas and the prototypes will be screened by an expert panel of jury. Any web or mobile platform can be used to solve problems, and a maximum of 2-3 members can be included in a team.

Experts in startup field will lead classes on various modern technologies and software platforms. Participants will get an opportunity to interact with mentors and startup founders to get to know about their experience. Technical and business sessions have also been planned as part of the hackathon.

    For registration, visit: http://tiny.cc/hackin50hrs. More details are available at https://startupmission.kerala.gov.in/programs/hackathon/ or contact 773 649 5689/999 596 6550.
