The foundation stone for ‘Construction of Forest Headquarters Building at Altinho, Old IPHB Complex’ was laid today at the hands of Laxmikant Parsekar, Chief Minister of Goa, in the distinguished presence of Rajendra Arlekar, Minister for Panchayats, Forest & Environment and Sidharth Kuncalienker, Vice Chairman, GSIDC and MLA of Panaji constituency.
Under the visionary leadership of Pramod P. Sawant, GSIDC is helping lead the way in building quality infrastructure for the state of Goa. Currently, the corporation is in the process of building roads, bridges, hospitals, colleges, schools, libraries, stadiums, jetties, bus stands, cultural centres and market complexes and is involved in the holistic development of rural and urban spaces.
Adding to this list of works, GSIDC has undertaken the “Construction of Forest Headquarters Building at Altinho, old IPHB Complex”. The proposed project includes the Forest Headquarters building in a plot area of 3270.00 sq.mts. located at Altinho at the Old IPHB complex. The building is designed as per standard
building design codes. The total built up area is 3067.00 Sq. mts. Provisions have been made to provide adequate space for the functioning of the Principal Chief Conservator of Forest (PCCF), Additional Principal Chief Conservator of Forest (APCCF), Conservator of Forest (CF), Deputy Conservator of Forest (DCF), Accounts Section, Legal Section, etc. The project also includes parking spaces for four and two wheelers.
The landscaping of the project is cleverly brought into the
building by use of a transparent façades, terrace gardens and a double height courtyard. The transparency of one of the facades shall be increased with shading screens, while the other shall be a more solid façade with voids of various sizes, framing the terrace gardens.The workspace layout plan shall be flexible to suit changing work patterns.
UCJ Architecture & Environment, Mumbai is the consultant and Décor Home (I) Pvt. Ltd., Mumbai. is the contractor for the project. The awarded cost of the project is 16.52 crores.
