The Government of India launched a dedicated channel on Telegram — a cloud-based mobile and desktop messaging app – to drive accurate information about the various initiatives undertaken towards controlling the current Coronavirus Covid 19 pandemic. This initiative, launched by MyGov is an attempt to curb the spread of inaccurate information about the outbreak, through a verified channel.
People who want to receive information and news updates regarding the current COVID-19 situation are joining this platform as this is a highly authenticated source where they could be fully assured about the credibility factor.
This is an official verified Channel for coronavirus news updates by MyGov in India wherein they will share factual data and relevant news pieces. The app will also enable subscribers to access and read content that was shared before they joined the MyGov Corona Newsdesk. The Channel will be live 24X7 and provide crucial updates regarding government advisories, Do’s and Don’ts, guidelines for hygiene and sanitation, standard operating procedures across various establishments and more.
In addition to this, MyGov is also providing details on Telegram Channel regarding a joint collaboration with NDMA (National Disaster Management Authority) and MoHFW (Ministry of Health and Family Welfare) calling for volunteers and individuals who wants to donate towards India’s Fight against Corona. The individuals who register themselves would be directly contacted by the concerned authorities of States/UTs/MoHFW for their donated medical equipment/ supplies. There are majorly four areas of contribution which includes health, communication, entrepreneurial, and other essential services.
