THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:
Issue of UTS tickets (Paperless) through Mobile APP has been extended to all stations over Southern Railway with effect from 14.04.2018. There has been tremendous response from the travelling public. On an average, 3% of total unreserved passengers are now using the APP for booking unreserved tickets.
This facility has been enabled for both Android and IOS phones. The user can quickly book tickets using the APP and can travel by showing the ticket in the mobile itself. For payment, users can recharge their R wallet either at any unreserved counters at stations or by using their credit / debit cards in the APP itself. Recharge can also be done through the website www.utsonmobile.indianrail.gov.in. When recharge of R wallet is done through UTS counters, no extra service charges are levied and the entire amount is credited to the R wallet account.
Now, based on the orders of the Railway Board, it has been decided that with effect from 24.05.2018, Thursday, an additional bonus of 5% will be extended to all the mobile booking customers when they recharge their R wallet. This initiative is taken to popularize mobile booking, encourage the passengers to Go Green and to promote digital payments. This bonus will be given to all the recharges done to the R wallet at the time of recharge itself. For instance, if a passenger recharges his/her R wallet for Rs.1000, the R wallet will be credited with Rs.1050 and he/she can book tickets for value upto Rs.1050.
To enable this, the facility of recharge will not be available for a brief period of two hours from 00.00 hrs. to 02.00 hrs. on 24.05.2018. The facility of recharge with bonus will be available thereafter. This scheme will be valid for a period of three months from 24.05.2018.
