KOCHI:
Aroh is an NGO for children with cancer and their families with offices in Coimbatore and Kochi. The Harley Davidson customers of Kochi known as the Spice Coast Hog did a rally to spread awareness about childhood cancer. The event took place at 9am at the Durbar Hall Ground.
Cine Artist Rima Kallungal along with Pediatric Oncologist Dr.HariSankaran (Amrita Hospital) and Dr.Raghu, Pediatric Oncologist (Aster Medcity) flagged off the rally. Around 25 bikers participated in the rally which started from Durbar Hall ground and ended in front of the Prestige Apts, Chathiath Rd.
Founder and Managing Trustee of Aroh, Bindu.N.Nair, Programme Coordinator of Aroh Kochi, Shruti Kiran, children and their parents, volunteers and supporters of Aroh participated in the event. Shruti welcomed the Chief Guest and others and Bindu talked about Aroh.
Rima, while giving the Chief Guest Address, said that the event is an eye opener for her in terms of Childhood cancer. She promised her support for Aroh and also promised to come to the different hospitals in Kochi with volunteers to entertain the children with dance and games. Mementos were given to Rima and Rajesh, President of the HD Customers group. The flag off was done after this. Rally finished in front of the Prestige Apts, Chathiath Rd. The riders expressed their happiness in participating for a cause which they found very touching. They pledged their support for Aroh in future also.
