KOZHIKODE:
IIMK LIVE (Laboratory for Innovation Venturing and Entrepreneurship), the pioneering startup incubator at the Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode (IIMK), has launched the ‘Ignite’ Program to drive meaningful, transformative change among India’s micro-enterprises and Self-Help Groups (SHGs). The program is dedicated to empowering innovative start-ups that are pioneering technology-driven solutions for grassroots businesses. By offering funding, mentorship, and essential resources, Ignite aims to accelerate the growth of start-ups committed to uplifting underserved communities, fostering sustainable growth, and strengthening economic resilience.
As India’s entrepreneurial landscape evolves, start-ups are increasingly providing tailored solutions that directly address the challenges faced by micro-enterprises and SHGs, especially in financial literacy, operational efficiency, and market reach. These ventures are empowering communities by streamlining operations, enhancing access to financial resources, and optimizing supply chains. By focusing on financial services, technology integration, and operational support, these start-ups are paving the way for broader economic resilience, equipping communities to thrive in today’s dynamic business environment.
Announcing the same, Prof. Debashis Chatterjee, Director of IIM Kozhikode and Chairman of IIMK LIVE, remarked, “The Ignite Program is a testament to IIMK LIVE’s commitment to fostering collaboration between innovative start-ups and grassroots micro-enterprises/SHGs. By providing targeted solutions in critical areas such as supply chain management, financial services, and marketing, Ignite aims to help micro-enterprises and SHGs unlock their full potential, driving positive social and economic impact.”
Igniting Grassroots Transformation through Technology and Innovation
Recognizing the immense potential of these forward-thinking ventures, IIMK LIVE’s Ignite Program is positioned to be a catalyst for change. Start-ups selected for Ignite will gain access to a host of resources, including funding support, mentorship from industry experts, and opportunities to connect with a network of professionals. This combination is designed to support start-ups in scaling their solutions, furthering IIMK LIVE’s mission of strengthening India’s entrepreneurial ecosystem at the grassroots level.
Applications Now Open
Applications for the Ignite Program are now open and will close on November 20, 2024. Start-ups and organizations working to empower micro-enterprises and SHGs are encouraged to apply and leverage the resources available through this unique initiative.
