    KOCHI:
    The National University of Advanced Legal Studies (NUALS), Kochi, is hosting a three- day International Seminar which is being conducted by the Centre for Health Law & Policy (CHLP), Centre for Human Rights (CHR) and Centre for Intellectual Property Rights on 11 th , 12th and 13 th of October, 2017.
    The seminar had been a success for the last two years and in each edition, dealt with various intricacies of interrelationship between Health Law, Human Rights and Intellectual Property Rights. This time too, the Seminar is aiming at a concrete and comprehensive evaluation of these subjects within the theme“Access to Information and Communication Technologies”.
    This Seminar will focus on the radical changes effected by information and communication technology in various facets of the society and particularly on the significance of the same in today’s socio-political scenario. The Seminar will be graced by numerous experts in the area of data privacy, individual rights, social media, scope of governmental policies, Aadhar, database protection laws, health data management systems, big data and data mining and as well as related themes of governance. The resource persons include pioneers in the field, Dr. Jill Bronfman from USA, Dr. Pierre Mazegga, France and Dr. Claire Lajaunie, Inserm, Dr. Arghya Sengupta of Aadhar case fame and several other experts. The seminar will be also be attended by various other legal scholars, jurists, educators and students from in and across the country.
    In the Inaugural function on 11 th Oct, 2017 which will be presided over by Prof (Dr.) Rose Varghese, Vice Chancellor of NUALS, Vice Chancellor of the Kerala Technical University, Dr. Kunjeria. P. Issac will officially inaugurate the event. The event will end on 13 th Oct, 2017 with the Valedictory function.
