India Tourism Development Corporation Ltd. (ITDC) hospitality major under the aegis of the Ministry of Tourism, Govt of India has joined hands with Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) to train the wards of CISF personnel under “Hunar se Rozgar Scheme” (A Skill Development Programme sponsored by Ministry of Tourism) through The Ashok Institute of Hospitality and Tourism Management (AIH&TM), one of the premier PSU Hospitality Training Institutes of the country under ITDC.
The first training batch on “Food Production” for 31 wards of CISF Personnel was inaugurated by O.P. Singh, Director General, CISF and Piyush Tiwari, Director (Commercial & Marketing), ITDC along with Sudha Chandra, Principal AIHTM and General Manager, HRD ITDC and Neelam Singh, President, Sanrakshika at Samrat Hotel, New Delhi on 6 th September 2017.
Other senior officials from ITDC and CISF were also present during the function. Appreciating role and Importance of ITDC in promoting tourism and related services in India O.P. Singh, Director General, CISF said, “CISF is committed towards the welfare of its personnel and their families. The partnership with AIH&TM is a step in this direction”. He further added that “In the coming months, more and more CISF wards will be enrolled for other courses run by AIH& TM. The force is making all efforts to achieve the goal of Skill India by ensuring active partnership with various ministries and organization’’.
‘The tourism and hospitality sector is one of the fastest growing sector not only in India but in global economy also. ITDC is playing an active role in growth and development of Indian tourism and hospitality sector. We are thankful to ITDC and AIT&HM for their support and cooperation in making the wards of CISF skilled. I am sure that in coming months there will be more such productive and gainful engagements’ Singh added.
Speaking on inauguration function held at Hotel Samrat, Piyush Tiwari, Director (Commercial and Marketing) ITDC, said “ITDC is grateful to CISF for their faith in ITDC’s expertise in hospitality training and management.
AIH& TM is ISO certified HRD wing of ITDC. Our talented team at AIH&TM has trained more than 15,000 candidates under Hunar Se Rozgar scheme through its Hotels and industry partners. The students are well placed in Hospitality Sector. We are sure that this collaboration of ITDC and CISF is going to impart employable skills to these young wards of CISF personnel who are aspiring to join the relevant sector soon. Our faculty at AIHTM will make sure that they have best of the training in the best suited atmosphere.
We are going to plan more programs in the coming quarters for enforcing strength and leadership quality in other organisations as well.” Tiwari added.
The first batch starting from 6 th September will conclude on 22 nd December 2017 and will be extensively focused in Multi-cuisine Trade. The duration of course is divided into 500 hours of theory and 200 hours of practical application of relevant theories. The Classes would be conducted at Centre of Excellence, AIHTM, Hotel Samrat.
AIH&TM, ITDC will be providing Boarding & Lodging facilities, Daily Lunch, Uniform and toolkit free
of cost to the students. Students will also be undergoing on job training/ Industrial training in ITDC Delhi based hotels.
At the completion of the course, an assessment will be carried out; Student with minimum 80% attendance will get the benefit of stipend and certification. Placement assistance will also be provided by AIH&TM.
