K.S. Srinivas, a 1997 batch IAS officer of the Kerala cadre, formally took over (13th August) as Chairman of Marine Products Export Development Authority (MPEDA), Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Govt. of India, bringing to the office his years of administrative expertise in various government departments.
Prior to his new assignment, he served a stint as Joint Secretary in the Department of Agriculture Cooperation & Farmers’ Welfare, Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare.
An engineering graduate and having a degree in business management from the prestigious Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Calcutta, he served as Sub- Collector, Fort Kochi; District Collector, Kannur and Palakkad districts, Managing Director, Malabar Cements; General Manager, SUPPLYCO and Secretary in various departments of the Kerala Government.
