  • Kerala Tourism is Most Visited Travel Website in India

    THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:
    Kerala Tourism is the topper in terms of number of visitors among all state tourism websites in the country during the 2024-25 financial year, surpassing the union government’s ‘Incredible India’ that occupies the second place, according to analytics company Similar web.

    Also, keralatourism.org is ranked second among travel as well as tourism sites in the global rankings. The site further came second in the category of tourism industry.Thailand Tourism emerged first in all three global rankings. Vietnam, Incredible India, and Indonesia occupy the third, fourth and fifth positions respectively.

    The 2007-launched Similarweb.com is internationally recognized for web-traffic analysis. According to Google analysis, six million users made 7.9 million visits to the Kerala Tourism website during 2024-25. Together, they viewed more than 15 million web pages.

    Tourism and Public Works Minister P.A. Mohamed Riyas said the website’s feat underscored Kerala’s recognition as a global tourism destination. “Such is our acceptance among tourists,” he noted. “On recognizing the importance of digital promotion in tourism development, Kerala Tourism is implementing innovative projects and products by catering to the changing tastes of travellers. The attractively-designed website provides comprehensive information about tourism activities in the state.”

    Around 5.8 million customers reached the Kerala Tourism site through search. More than one million people reached the site by typing keralatourism.org, while close to nearly one million visitors arrived through advertisements. Visitors from about 200 countries visit the website. Apart from the home page, many visit pages such as accommodation facilities, tourist destinations, tour packages, heli-tourism, wedding destinations, festival calendar, Theyyam calendar and yoga.

    The website has over 100,000 pages, featuring high-resolution images, engaging videos and a visually appealing layout. It also features a travel planner, live webcasts and e-newsletters.

    Available in more than 20 languages, the Kerala Tourism website is a comprehensive digital guide covering the state’s unique attractions, culture and travel. The website is designed and maintained by Invis Private Limited, the official IT solution partner of Kerala Tourism.

    The Kerala Tourism site has already been recognized as one of the top 10 tourism websites in Asia-Pacific and the Middle East. The site recorded nearly 10 million visitors and over 20 million page views during 2023-24.
