  • Keys of 11 Houses and Community Hall Hand Over under Muthoot Aashiyana Project

    KATTAPPANA:
    Muthoot M George Foundation handed over the keys of 11 houses and a community hall constructed as part of its Social Responsibility Initiatives at Maniyarankudi in Kattappana.

    At a public meeting chaired by Muthoot Group Managing Director George Alexander Muthoot, Roshi Augustine MLA handed over the keys of the houses and community hall to the beneficiaries. As part of Muthoot Aashiyana Project initiated by Muthoot M George Foundation, 11 houses and a community hall were constructed for those who have lost their homes during the floods in 2018. Each house is constructed in a 4-cent plot, donated by Dr. Maitreya, MD, Archana Hospital, Thodupuzha.

    Each house constitutes two-bedrooms, kitchen, hall and a toilet; has a built-up area of 500 sq. ft. and is constructed on a cost of approximately Rs. 520,000. In addition to providing 11 such homes, a community hall was also built for the Women’s Council to promote activities for their development and self-sufficiency.

    The Women’s Council intends to use the community hall to provide training for self-employment projects. The community hall with the built-up area of 1000sqft is built spending Rs. 11 lakhs. Muthoot Home Protector Insurance coverage is made available for all the 11 homes for their protection against possible damage and loss that could occur in the future.

    Iris Builders & Interiors spearheaded the construction works. Muthoot Aashiyana Housing Scheme has already started construction of 190 houses and 88 houses have been completed. A total of 100 houses have been completed along with the houses and community hall in Maniyarankudi.

    Muthoot Group is a company which has always worked for the betterment of the community and believes that providing a family with a home can easily bring those families back into their normal lives, said George Alexander Muthoot, Managing Director, Muthoot Group.

    District Panchayat President Kochuthresiya Paul was the chief guest at the function. Muthoot Group Joint Managing Director George Thomas Muthoot delivered the keynote address. District Panchayat Member Lisamma Sajan, Block Panchayat President Reji Mukkat, Vazhathop Panchayat President in-charge K.A. Jalaludhin, Life Mission DMC Praveen K, MD Archana Hospital, Thodupuzha, Dr. Maitreya, Rosakutty Abraham, and Jose Kuzhikkandam graced the function.
