THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:
The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has accredited KIMSHEALTH with three more super-specialty courses: DrNB in ‘Rheumatology and Clinical Immunology’ and ‘Interventional Radiology’ besides FNB in ‘Infectious Diseases’.
With these three new courses, the hospital will be eligible to admit 78 postgraduate and post-doctoral students in 25 specialties (DNB, DrNB and FNB) every year. Admissions will be done on a national level by the Medical Counselling Committee in Delhi.
KIMSHEALTH has demonstrated excellent performance in NBEMS courses over the years. In 2004, KIMSHEALTH became one of the first institutions in the nation to launch DNB programmes (Cardiology and Radiology) within two years after its inception.
During the last 18 years, students from KIMSHEALTH has won all-India NBEMS first rank with gold medal six times, in Cardiology (2007), Orthopedics (2015), ENT(2015), Obstetrics & Gynecology (2016), and Respiratory Medicine (two awards in two sessions 2020). The hospital received the National Teaching Excellence Award in 2018.
KIMSHEALTH has a dedicated section to handle all admission procedures and welfare activities for students undergoing training. The hospital’s post graduate student guidance programme has also earned much praise.
