

KOCHI:
The Kochi Corporation has started a 10-day camp for identifying differently-abled persons in the corporation area for providing various assistive devices. Kochi Corporation Mayor M. Anil Kumar inaugurated the camp, which will be held in different parts of the corporation, at function held at Fort Kochi community hall.
Inaugurating the camp, Mayor stated that the corporation is committed to protect the rights of the differently-abled persons and ensure services to them. Deputy Mayor K. A. Ansiya was the chief guest of the function which was presided over by Health Standing Committee Chairperson T. K. Ashraf.
The camps are led by Dr. Nimmi Joseph, Dr. Sindhu Vijayakumar, Dr. Mathew George, Dr. Reshma, Dr. Manoj Kumar and B. M. Geetha. The camps are being organised by Kochi Corporation with the professional support of DMO Ernakulam and the National Institute of Medical Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (NIPMR), Kallettumkara, Thrissur.
NIPMR Executive Director C. Chandra Babu; corporation standing committee chairpersons P. R. Reneesh, Sunitha Dixon, J. Sanil Mon, Adv. Priya Prashanth and Sheeba Lal and CDPO Khadeejamma, were also present at the function.
The camp will be held at Mattancherry K. M. Muhammed Hall on September 16, Fort Kochi Veli Pallath Raman Memorial Hall on September 22, Thoppumpady Our Ladys Convent Girls High School on September 23, Ernakulam Town Hall on September 28, Eda-Kochi St. Mary’s School on September 29, Palluruthy E. K. Narayan Square on October 4, Pachalam P J Antony Hall on October 5, Gandhi Nagar Lions Club Hall on October 11 and Anjumana Devi Temple Hall on October 12.
