THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:
As part of its technical lecture series “LETs” Talk (Learn Emerging Technologies), city-based Future Technologies Lab will organise a lecture on the topic “Vehicle Electronics and Powertrain Technologies” on September 21.
Kuruvilla Jose, Group Head, Powertrain Control, Tata Elxsi Limited, will give the hour-long talk at Meetup Cafe, Kerala Startup Mission (G3B, Thejaswini), Technopark Campus here at 5 pm. Future Technologies Lab, which is under Kerala Startup Mission (KSUM), is organising the event in concert with Robotics Animation Society under Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers. To be held on third Thursday of every month, the first phase of the lecture series will be about autonomous cars.
Kuruvilla worked for more than a decade in Robert Bosch, where he was responsible for the design and development of various electronic controls for Engine Control Unit. His areas of expertise include air systems control, tail pipe emission reduction control and emission legislations compliance verification for commercial vehicle and passenger car diesel engine, power train electronics control and validations.
The speaker will cover topics like various sources of emission in vehicle regulations and mitigation; passive and active systems in vehicles to monitor and control emissions; and trends in energy generation and distribution.
The lecture gets significance at a time vehicle manufacturers are pondering over low tail pipe emission strategies, including hybrid engines and battery electric vehicles.
