  • Malayalis Lost Their Receptiveness: Mohd. Haneesh

By NE Reporter on May 7, 2019

    KOCHI:
“Malayali’s closed mind is a hindrance to acquire knowledge”, said Mohd. Haneesh, Director KMRL. He was inaugurating the summer school for High School students, organized by Cochin University of Science and Technology Library from 6th to 17th May.

“There is a world full of nature apart from science and Technology which will provide a new outlook towards life, and only when such outlook is imbibed, life becomes complete. In the present world where knowledge is being trivialized and segregated a return to sources including basic texts and wide reading is the need of the hour” he added.
“Only when a person thinks out of the syllabus, society could be understood and there is a need to relate history and culture since a cultural gap has occurred in the society”.

“Vacation classes have become a business, but the usefulness of the same is a question”, said Vice Chancellor Dr. K
N Madhusoodanan who presided over the function. The Summar School is intended to familiarize University to children, he added. Dr. C Beena University Librarian, Dr. Sunoj S M, Member of Syndicate and Anil Radhakrishnan, Asst. Librarian also spoke at the function. The organizers informed that there will be an opportunity to visit various departments including Kunjali Marakkar School of Marine Engineering as a part of summer school.
