  • Medical Entrance: DOPA Ties up with Dr Bhatia Institute

By NE Reporter on January 20, 2025

    KOZHIKODE:
DOPA (Doctors on Prep Academy), a leading institute in the medical entrance sector, has entered into a partnership with the famed Dr Bhatia Institute, enabling DOPA to provide quality training in all regional languages of the country in the coming years.

While Dr Bhatia is a frontline NEET-PG educational and training institute, DOPA is a startup registered under Kerala Startup Mission (KSUM). The association will further expand DOPA’s entrance training portfolio.

As part of the collaboration, DOPA got a new logo, which was unveiled by Dr. Bhatia Institute CEO Dr. Nachiket Bhatia. Present at the ceremony in the city were DOPA founders Dr. Niyas Paloth, Dr. Mohammed Asif, Dr. Ashiq Sainudheen, Dr. Jamshith Ahmed and Muneer Marakkar.

The DOPA Board of Directors, while describing the collaboration with Dr. Bhatia Institute as an honour, said the tie-up will transform their startup into a strong organization.

DOPA, headquartered at Kozhikode Medical College, has already paved the way for students from Kerala to get a better chance in NEET. More than 1,000 students have secured medical admissions in various parts of the country through DOPA. This time, more than 4,000 students are undergoing entrance training. Admissions have begun for the next academic year.

DOPA was started in 2020 by four doctors and an engineer who graduated from Kozhikode Medical College. Recognizing the impact of the work on students and parents during this period, Dr. Bhatia Institute decided to collaborate with DOPA.

The tie-up with DOPA comes on the heels of Dr. Bhatia’s merger with a Japanese company worth Rs 300 crore.

DOPA’s work aims to train students for the NEET exam and develop their aptitude for science subjects. DOPA students secured 11th and 16th ranks in the 2022 NEET exam, while another won the 27th rank in 2023. DOPA offers online and offline classes.

KSUM is the state government’s nodal agency for entrepreneurship development and incubation activities.
