KOCHI:
The much awaited third edition of the Metro Food Awards will be held at Bolgatty Palace and Island Resort,Kochi, , on 30 October 2017 at 05.30 pm.
The event is a platform for those in the F&B and Hospitality industries to showcase their expertise. These awards shall recognise and commemorate excellence of restaurants in Central Kerala. Kerala Tourism Development Authority, Kerala Tourism, Institute of Hotel Management and Catering Technology, South Kerala Hoteliers Forum and Food and Agriculture Organisation (a specialised agency of the United Nations Organisation) are all associate partners in the awards’ celebration.
The selection guidelines are simple and easy to follow. Different categories have been established to rate and include all types of restaurants across cities in central Kerala. The restaurant should be operational from the time of nomination to when the awards are announced.
All paperwork regarding licenses and clearance from the government should be available and food must be prepared and served to the customers in hygienic environs. The Metro Awards are a benchmark in recognising restaurants of merit. Participants have the opportunity to demonstrate the ability to satisfy the palate of the most discerning diner. “The professionalism and dynamism of the restaurants in the various cities, as well as the skills and acumen presented by the staff, would be considered,” remarked Siji Nair, Managing Director, Metro Food Awards 2017. “We believe that it is the diners who should have the final say to select the finest restaurant. They are the best judge of culinary experts who serve an appetising meal with quality service,” he added.
A team of experts from the hospitality sector, industry leaders and professionals would constitute the jury. They would undertake a meticulous multi-stage process of pre-scoring to shortlist the final candidates. They would also monitor SMS voting by the public and mystery shopping expeditions before judging the entries to decide on the winners.
