Industries, Sports & Youth Affairs Minister E P Jayarajan, today formally launched the redesigned website of Department of Industries & Commerce (www.keralaindustry.org), which provides comprehensive information about policies, events and latest initiatives related to industries in a user-friendly manner.
On the occasion, the minister also launched the website of Kerala Bureau of Industrial Promotion (K-BIP) — www.kbip.org. K-BIP, an autonomous body under Department of Industries & Commerce of the Government of Kerala, has been established for the promotion of small and micro enterprises in the state.
Dr. K. Ellangovan, Principal Secretary (Industries), APM Mohammed Haneesh, Secretary (Industries), Rajamanickam, Director of Industries & Commerce, and Suraj S.Nair, Chief Executive Officer, Kerala Bureau of Industrial Promotion (K-BIP), were present during the official launch of the websites.
The official website of the Department of Industries & Commerce, which is operated and maintained by K-BIP, provides a wealth of relevant information related to various industries in Kerala while latest events, news and notifications relevant to the industry sector are updated on the portal on a day-to-day basis.
The website has been redesigned to make it more user-friendly and also incorporates the new initiatives of the Department such as Ease of Doing Business, K-Swift, Invest Kerala, Mega Projects, Kerala e-market, infrastructure availability, online editions of Vyavasaya Keralam magazine, and Investor Konnect engaged in creating an enabling environment for investors.
The portal provides comprehensive information about the policies, schemes and incentives provided by the Department, its promotional agencies, PSUs sector-wise. It provides important Government Orders related to Industries Department.
As for the new website of K-BIP, it will provide details about the complete range of activities relating to Industrial Cluster Development, Kerala State Bamboo Mission, National Centre for HACCP Certification (NCHC), National SC/ST Hub in the state, Kerala Commerce Mission and
‘Kerala e-market’ portal. It will also contain information relating to K-BIP’s promotional activities.
The website is designed to propagate the activities and services of K-BIP online among the prospective and existing entrepreneurs, industrialists and other stakeholders.
K-BIP provides operational flexibility and acts as support mechanism for the Department of Industries & Commerce. It is the coordinating agency for the Cluster Development Programme with financial assistance from Ministry of MSME, Government of India. It is also the nodal agency of the National Bamboo Mission of the Central government for implementation of various activities for the promotion of bamboo sector in the state. Further, it is the State Implementing Agency of National SC/ST Hub under Ministry of MSME and is also nominated as the State Nodal Agency for PM-FME Scheme of Ministry of Food Processing Industries, Government of India.
The National Centre for HACCP Certification (NCHC), the nodal agency for audit and certification of Food Safety (HACCP) System to Food Processing & Allied Units, is functioning under KBIP. The Commerce Mission constituted by Government of Kerala for the promotion of commerce sector in the state is also functioning in K-BIP.
