BHOPAL:
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has emphasized the need to bolster anti-Maoist operations by expanding the state’s specialized unit, the Hawk Force, and establishing additional security camps in regions affected by Maoist activities. This initiative aims to enhance the safety and development of these areas.
In a recent meeting with senior police officials, CM Yadav underscored the importance of coordinated efforts among various agencies to improve the socio-economic conditions in Maoist-affected districts. He highlighted the necessity of infrastructure development, including the installation of mobile towers and improved road connectivity, to ensure better communication and accessibility for residents in dense forest regions.
The Chief Minister reiterated the state’s commitment to eradicating Maoist threats, aligning with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s resolve to eliminate Naxalism by 2026. He called for regular reviews of ongoing development projects in affected areas and stressed strict monitoring at district, police headquarters, and state government levels to effectively curb Naxal activities.
Recent operations have demonstrated the effectiveness of the Hawk Force. Notably, on February 19, 2025, four female Maoists were killed in an encounter in the Supkhar forest area of Balaghat district, leading to the recovery of weapons and materials used by the insurgents.
These developments underscore the state’s proactive approach to strengthening security and promoting development in regions impacted by Maoist activities.
