    It was an action-packed and exciting day three at the Clube Tennis de Gaspar Dias Open 2017. Goa witnessed a master class performance from Nagesh Naik to hand Sandeep Verlekar a 4-1, 4-1 drubbing while Tejas Shevde defending champion powered through with a 4-1, 4-0 victory over Raju Kundaikar. Simultaneously, Ashley Thomas carved out a win against Anupam Saxena (4-0, 4-0) to proceed to the next round of the Men’Nagesh Naik serving an ace in his match against Sandeep Verlekar in the men's single category at the on going Clube Tennis de Gaspar Dias Open 2017s Single category.
    With Tennis enthusiast gathered around the blue courts, Glen D’Silva and Noel Noronha were engaged in a thrilling battle for supremacy ultimately winning (4-1, 4-0) with Jose and Jerome Monteiro in the Veterans Double category while Max Chandra got the better of Glen (2-4, 4-2, 4-0) pulling off a dominating win in the Veterans Singles category to cap off the morning session.
    The evening session saw the commencement of the Under 16 category for girls and boys. The budding players took to the courts amidst cheers from their fellow players and close friends. Nitsa Murthy convincingly defeated Samiksha Gajinkar (4-0, 4-0) to make it into the next round in th
    e U-16 Girls category. Felix Creven notched up a close victory over Joshua Pereira (3-4, 4-2, 4-2) to progress to the next round of the U-16 Boys. At the time of filing the report U-16 Boys and Girls, Men’s Singles, Men’s Doubles, Ladies Singles and Mixed Doubles were in progress for the evening.
    Clube Tennis de Gaspar Dias Open 2017 commenced with a total of 133 entries coming in across 10 categories. The tournament is being organized by Clube Tennis de Gaspar Dias, Goa’s first tennis club in partnership with Goa State Tennis Association (GSTA) and Gadre Premium Seafood.
    Clube Tennis de Gaspar Dias Open 2017 will be an annual fixture on the state’s tennis calendar. Spread over eight days, matches are scheduled between 7am and 10am in the morning and between 4pm and 10pm in the evening. The finals will be held on the 29th of January 2017.
    The tournament matches are open to spectators and tennis fans. The organizers have created an exciting atmosphere for spectators and audiences with music and snack stalls on the sidelines of the tennis courts.
