  • National Welding Seminar at Kochi from December 13

    KOCHI:
    The Indian Institute of Welding (IIW – India) is organizing a three day seminar from 13 th to 15 th at Bolgatty Palace. The seminar will be inaugurated on Thursday, 13th December 2018 at   by Chief Secretary Tom Jose.

    Dr Madhu S Nair, CMD, Cochin Shipyard will be the chief guest. Dr Arunkumar Bhadhuri, Research Director, Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research (IGCAR) and President, IIW – India; Parimal Biswas, Secretary General, IIW; M R
    Srinivasan, Mumbai IIW Foundation Chairman will also participate in the seminar. 350 delegates will be participating in the seminar and 90 presentations will be made on modern welding technologies.

    Managing Directors of various companies will speak on topics like skill development and role of welding technology on national development. This is the first IIW national seminar being conducted in Kerala. Welding Technology experts, researchers, welding professionals and academic experts will be participating in the three day seminar. The latest welding technology, robotics welding demo also will be held at Bolgatty Palace.

    Established in 1966 with its registered office at Kolkata, it has 13 branches located at Bangalore, Baroda, Bhilai, Chennai, Cochin, Delhi, Jamshedpur, Kolkata, Mumbai, Tiruchirapalli, Vishakhapatnam, Pune and Hyderabad. IIW has over 4000 welding professionals and more than 300 industries as members. IIW Cochin branch is providing training programs for young professionals.

    These training programs are being conducted as part of Cochin Shipyard’s CSR activity with the support of Don Bosco Institute of Technology, Vaduthala. 110 young professionals have till now completed this five month duration program. Practical sessions of 540 hours and theory session of 600 hours is included in this program.
