THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:
The National Institute of Speech and Hearing (NISH) is accepting applications from deaf and hearing impaired candidates to its specially designed undergraduate degree programs for the academic year 2017-18.
The courses offered are: BSc Computer Science, B.Com and Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA). The application window will be open from Monday(June 5) until June 20. Applications can only be submitted online at the NISH website: admissions.nish.ac.in.
Applicants should have passed the Plus Two/Pre-degree or its equivalent from any Education Board or University in India whose curriculum is recognised as being suitable for admission to a degree program at any University in India. Candidates with equivalent qualifications from India or abroad will also be eligible.
Candidates will have to appear for the Degree Admission Competency Examination (DACE) conducted at NISH. The DACE examination consists of one paper each in English, Mathematics and Logical ability. Those opting for Bachelor of Fine Arts (HI) will have to take an aptitude test in drawing. Aptitude test scores will only be in a Pass/Fail format. The rank list will be prepared on the basis of DACE scores.
Candidates who do not pass the DACE examination are not eligible for any of the degree programs.
