The number of COVID-19 cases in Odisha rose to 26,892 with the detection of 1,503 new infectees in the last 24 hours, informed the health department on Monday.
The death toll rose to 147 as seven more fatalities were reported in the last 24 hours. Three deaths were reported from Ganjam, and one each from Cuttack, Khordha, Malkangiri and Sundargarh districts.
Out of 1,503 positive cases, 1,002 are from quarantine centres and 501 are local contact cases. Hotspot Ganjam district reported highest 491 cases, followed by Khurda (223), Cuttack (136), 73 each from Kandhamal and Gajapati, Rayagada (68), Sundargarh (57), and Jajpur (51).
With this, the active cases in the state are now 9,919 while the recoveries stand at 16,792.
