KOCHI:
Soaked in the fervor of the ongoing festivities, Ola, India’s most popular mobile app for transportation, celebrated the auspicious festival of Onam with its driver partners in Kochi. The top-rated driver partners of the city were showered with goodies like Onakkodi (traditional garment) and Payassam (traditional sweet dish), at a special ceremony.
Speaking about the initiative, Anand Subramanian, Senior Director Marketing Communication from Ola, said, “Onam is one of the most important festivals in Kerala and is celebrated with a lot of fervor across the state, including Kochi. We are thankful to our driver partners who have been working throughout the festival to provide uninterrupted transport facilities to the citizens. In order to show our gratitude and appreciation for their relentless support, we decided to acknowledge their contribution through this small gesture.”
Rajan, Ola’s top-rated driver partner in Kochi said, “Onam is most auspicious time of the year and all of us travel all around the city and state to meet our loved ones. Being associated with a platform like Ola, we consider it our duty to offer uninterrupted services to customers, without compromising on the festive spirit around. It feels good to be appreciated for one’s efforts and Ola never misses an opportunity to do that.We also did take time to celebrate and share our joy with our loved ones on this occasion.”
At Ola, building a robust and healthy driver partner ecosystem has been a constant endeavour and the company has been engaging with its driver partners through similar initiatives in the past as well. Back in February, Ola surprised its top-rated driver partners with an all-expense paid date on Valentine’s Day. During the cricket season in April, Ola flagged off a unique pan-India initiative called Ola Partners League (OPL), a virtual cricket game where driver partners scored runs per booking.
With more than 3 lakh driver partners participating, over 50,000 winners took home fabulous prizes.
