THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:
The Onam Coir Carnival 2017 organized by Department for Coir Development, Kerala, to promote and popularize coir products, an integral part of the state’s heritage, is garnering public attention. The fair inaugurated on the 1st of August by the Minister for Finance and Coir Development, Dr. T.M. Thomas Issac has been drawing crowds in all its 118 centres across the state.
An exclusive offer to buy Rs 2000-worth of selected coir products for a Rs 1000 voucher is the main attraction of the fair. Further, the fair offers all coir products at a heavily discounted fifty percent.
The fair offers customers a chance to win gold prizes and bumper prize of a brand new car through lucky draws as a part of its promotion. With the introduction of a monthly part-payment scheme for government employees against the purchase of coir products, coir carnival is a trending choice among the sector.
