KOCHI:
Milma’s Ernakulam Regional Cooperative Milk Producers’ Union (ERCMPU) will give an extra ten rupees per litre as an incentive during Independence Day and Onam celebrations to its 1,000-plus Anand-model cooperatives functioning from the districts of Thrissur, Ernakulam, Kottayam and Idukki.
The offer period is from August 11 to September 30, ERCMPU Chairman M.T. Jayan said.
Half the total incentive amount (Rs 5 per litre) will go to the farmers who measure milk. Of the rest of the amount, Rs 4 per litre will be spent to meet the daily expenses of the cooperatives, according to Milma’s directive. The remaining Rs 1 per litre will be kept apart for as the regional union’s share for members of the cooperative.
ERCMPU will thus disburse a total amount of Rs 12 crore in the 50 days to its members across the four districts.
The union will this year implement P&I (procurement and inputs) projects of Rs 14 crore in the procurement sector for cooperatives and members.
Further, ERMCPU is organising a meet for the secretaries and presidents of Anand-model cooperatives to learn about their issues and suggest solutions.
The union’s regional meet for this year will be held at Perumbavoor Town Hall on September 28.
