  • Online Kerala Startup Jobs & Internships Fair; Registration till 30th June

By NE Reporter on June 26, 2018

    KOCHI:
Fourth Ambit, online community platform for colleges, in partnership with Kerala Startup Mission plans to host an Online Kerala Startup Jobs & Internships Fair in June, 2018.
Colleges can set up their private social network on the same comprising of students, alumni, faculty and other well-wishers. In addition to the same, they can connect with the larger educational ecosystem comprising of partners across themes like jobs, internships, skilling, entrepreneurship etc. Fourth Ambit already has more than 1700 college communities on their platform including big brands like IIM B, IIM K, NIT Trichy, Manipal University, NMIMS, XIM B etc. They have signed off on an MOU with AICTE entailing the set up of online communities for 10,000+ tech and MBA colleges across India. More than 250 colleges in Kerala are on-board on their platform.
Students can register for the fair till 30th June, 2018 by visiting http://www.fourthambit.com/ksji-fair. Students and Startups can reach out to Fourth Ambit at shine@fourthambit.com for further support and assistance.
Speaking about the initiative, Rahul Das, CEO Fourth Ambit, said, “Student employability is one of the key value themes for Fourth Ambit. Alumni connect, Faculty development, Jobs & Internship opportunities and Skilling ecosystem access are at the core of our value offering. Kerala Startup Jobs & Internship Fair is going live right after the success of the All Kerala Internships Fair where more than 2500 offers we made. This gives us the confidence of making this campaign an even larger success. We thank Kerala Startup Mission, AICTE and Department of Higher Education Kerala for partnering in the vision and supporting us for these campaigns.” Startup internships is one of the key themes for the same. Students need to realise that skills acquired in the first few years of professional life is more critical than the “brand name” of their first company. Working in a startup provides the students an opportunity to acquire cutting edge skills, work on business critical projects, get 360 degree multi-functional exposure, stand out and get noticed, grow exponentially up the ladder. An assured internship in a startup is a good place to start your career versus staying unemployed/ confused between multiple higher education/ entrepreneurship/ job options. At the other end, these internships would provide a cost-effective solution for the startups as well. This would reduce the risks of wrong hires given that 2-3 months of on-the-job evaluation can precede the actual hiring. Remember that affordability and attitude are as critical as skill proficiency when it comes to hiring talent for startups.
Fourth Ambit was co-founded by Ruby Peethambaran, Jikku Jolly, Rahul Das and Shyam Menon, four classmates from 2000 batch of Model Engineering College. More than 250 colleges in Kerala are on-board on their platform. They recently conducted an Online Internship Fair for students from engineering and MBA colleges in Kerala. This resulted in more than 50 companies and 16000+ students participating, and more than 2500 internships being offered.
