KOCHI:
The passing out ceremony of 10 th batch of students of B.Tech Marine Engineering and 2 nd batch of M.Tech Marine Engineering at Kunjali Marakkar School of Marine Engineering, CUSAT was held.
Farooq Khan, Administrator, Union Territory of Lakshadweep was the Chief Guest and Shammy K, Principal Surveyor, Indian Register of Shipping, Mumbai was the Guest of Honour. Cusat Vice Chancellor Dr. J. Letha presided and handed over course certificates to the cadets. Dr. K.A. Simon, Director, KMSME and Dr. S David
Peter, Registrar spoke.
K. M School Marine Engineering is the only institution in the country, conducting B.Tech Marine Engineering course directly under the state Government and also branded under ISO 9001-2015 certification and with an ‘Outstanding’ grade by the independent benchmarking agency IRS. B.Tech course of this institution is an eight semester full-time residential programme with an intake of 80 students and is approved by the Directorate General of Shipping, Mumbai and AICTE.
“All the students upto 8 th batch of B.Tech and 95 percent of 9 th batch and 13 students of the outgoing batch have been placed in the world famous shipping companies like American President Lines, K- Line (Japan), Mediterranean Shipping Company, Orient Express Ship Management” said Prof. K.A Simon, college Director. The outgoing batch includes Nila John, the first woman cadent from south India.
