PJJ Fruits is expanding into retail segment with fruits imported from 15-plus countries including the USA, Australia and New Zealand. A company with a legacy of three decades in fruits merchandise, PJJ Fruits offers high-quality, non-toxic fruits packed in specially-designed food grade containers.
Ernakulam District Collector S. Suhas inaugurated the sales at Ramada Resorts, Kumbalam. Antony Ashamparambil, Chairman of Maradu Municipality, and K.M Jijimon, Assistant Police Commissioner, were also present at the function.
PJJ Fruits is importing fruits from countries like Italy, France, Spain, USA, Canada, Chile, Australia, New Zealand, Egypt and Jordan. To ensure quality, fruits are selected from orchards that strictly adhere to quality standards stipulated not just by their countries but also by international markets. All the above-mentioned countries follow stringent regulations for farms, cultivation, harvest and procurement. It is seen to that growers who use chemicals above the permissible limit are excluded from the list of suppliers. And the company is associating only with traders who have valid quality certificates.
Fruits brought to Kerala are stored in freezers equipped with special high-end features. As PJJ has its own logistics system, fruits collected from farms reach customers in the shortest possible time. The company ensures that fruits are not touched by hands throughout, right from picking to delivering. It also has the system to makes sure that the consignment is not sold after its expiry date. PJJ Fruits, currently dealing with the procurement and sale of fruits from across the country, is entering the retail market of imported fruits as part of its expansion drive, said P.J. Jaison, chairman of the company. Launched in Pala three decades ago by P.J. Johnson, PJJ Fruits is now headed by his brother, Jaison.
