KOCHI:
A three-day seminar on ‘Ramasankalpa in Kerala’, jointly organised by the Department of Hindi at Cochin University of Science and Technology and Bharatiya Sahitya Pratishtan, Kochi Chapter started at Cusat Seminar Complex.
Famous artists presented papers on various topics related to Ramasankalpa. Famous music director Sreevalsan J. Menon spoke on the topic Ramasankalpa in music. The concept of Ramasankalpa was less mentioned in the field of music, he said. Thyagaraja in his musical compositions portrayed Rama in a way that everyone can criticize him socially, he added.
Dr. Kalamandalam Rajitha, Kalamandalam Aswathy spoke on the ramasankalpa in various dance forms. Margi Madhu Chakyar and his group presented Balivadham Koodiyattam . On the second day Dr. P.S. Radakrishnan and Prof. Chandradasan spoke on Ramasankalpa in Literature and Theatre respectively. Sreekumar Mukathala, Programme Director, Akashvani, Kochi spoke on the topic ‘Raman after triumvirate poets’. Seminar will conclude tomorrow.
