

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:
Extending a helping hand to the victims of the devastating landslides in Wayanad district, three state-owned IT Parks in Kerala today donated Rs 2.1 crore to the Chief Minister’s Distress Relief Fund (CMDRF) for rehabilitation activities.
Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan received the cheque for Rs 2.1 crore from Col Sanjeev Nair (Retd), CEO, Technopark, and Susanth Kurunthil, CEO of Infopark and Cyberpark, in the CM’s Chamber at the Secretariat here.
Dr Rathan U Kelkar, Secretary, E & IT, Government of Kerala; Manjit Cherian, CMO, Kerala IT Parks; and Jayanthi L, CFO, Kerala IT Parks, were also present.
The fund was generated by the three government IT Parks—Technopark, Infopark, and Cyberpark—as a humanitarian gesture from the IT community to help rebuild severely ravaged Chooralmala and Mundakkai villages in Wayanad.
Col Sanjeev Nair (Retd) said that Wayanad has witnessed one of the worst disasters and the IT community stands together and extends a helping hand to those affected. The financial aid from the three IT Parks is a compassionate gesture to support the government’s initiative of rehabilitation work for the disaster victims.
Susanth Kurunthil said we should stand with Wayanad and support them to recover from the disaster. “We should also acknowledge the efforts taken by helping hands who are engaged in search and rescue operations,” he added.
Jayanthi said through the contribution, the IT Parks have extended their solidarity with the people of Wayanad and hoped that normal life would return in the affected areas at the earliest.
