  • Solar Projects to Come up Along Industrial Corridors, DMICDC CEO Alkesh Sharma

By NE Reporter on January 8, 2019

    NEW DELHI:
Riding high on India’s renewable energy wave, in partnership with New Energy & Industrial Technology Development Organisation (NEDO), Japan and Delhi Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC) are planning to set up a range of solar projects on the lines of the recently commissioned 5 MW solar project at Neemrana, Rajasthan.

The projects would come up along the industrial corridors and manufacturing zones of DMIC, Alkesh Sharma, CEO & MD, Delhi Mumbai Industrial Corridor Development Corporation Limited (DMICDC) said.

‘’We are looking at more similar large scale solar projects which is one the lines of the first and the largest smart micro-grid project,’’, Alkesh Sharma, said at a Workshop on Investment & Business Opportunities in DMIC Project. Sharing recent progress of DMIC Smart Cities, he said that the project has been implemented in partnership with the New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO), Government of Japan. The power project, managed by the DMICDC Neemrana Solar Power Company Limited (DNSPCL), a wholly owned subsidiary of DMICDC, is spread over an area of 36 acres of land allocated by the Rajasthan State Industrial Development & Investment Corporation (RIICO) in the Japanese Zone, Neemrana.

Alkesh Sharma showcased the development and investment opportunities that exist in DMIC projects. Addressing a spread of CEO/MDS of state level DMIC SPVs and representatives of various investment promotion agencies of different countries operating in India he said ‘’We have ensured that the investor does not face any bottleneck. All help would be offered through a single window especially the clearances. The Investor need to only start their business. We are offering large litigation free land contiguous land tracts.’’ He pointed out that states today are more pro-active as far as ease of doing business goes. There is more competition amongst the states, he said.

‘’We are future proofing infrastructure at least for 50 years, Alkesh Sharma added while explaining the perspective in which the DMIC is being executed. The convention centre that is coming up at Dwarka, New Delhi and completed next year would be the largest in South Asia, he said.
