  • SpiceJet Launches 12 New Domestic Flights

By NE Reporter on May 3, 2019

    GURUGRAM:
SpiceJet, the country’s favourite carrier, today announced the launch of 12 new domestic flights connecting the key metros of Mumbai and Delhi with a host of cities on its domestic network. Of these, six are to and from Mumbai while six connect Delhi. All the new flights are effective 11th May, 2019.

In order to cater to the increased demand created due to shortage of capacity, starting April 1, SpiceJet has announced 77 flights which includes 48 flights connecting Mumbai, 16 flights connecting Delhi and 8 flights between Mumbai and Delhi. In addition to these 77 flights, SpiceJet has also announced a slew of new international flights. The airline has already opened bookings for Mumbai-Bangkok flight which is effective 17 May, 2019. SpiceJet will soon connect Mumbai with Hong Kong, Jeddah, Dubai, Colombo, Dhaka, Riyadh, and Kathmandu.

Reiterating the airline’s commitment towards enhancing connectivity between key metros and smaller cities, SpiceJet has introduced new flights on the Delhi-Vishakhapatnam-Delhi and Delhi-Kochi-Delhi sectors.

The airline will also enhance its operations on the Mumbai-Bengaluru-Mumbai (5 th  frequency), Mumbai-Gorakhpur-Mumbai (2 nd frequency), Mumbai-Chennai-Mumbai (5 th  frequency) and Delhi-Srinagar-Delhi (3 rd  frequency) sectors.  All the new flights introduced will fly daily and SpiceJet will deploy its Boeing 737 NG aircraft on these routes. The new flights from Mumbai and Delhi will be operational from Terminal 2 of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport and Indira Gandhi International Airport respectively.

As a pro-active measure, to counter the ongoing crisis resulting in a huge shortage of capacity in the Indian aviation market, the airline has been consistently working towards introducing new flights and frequencies to restore normalcy. The airline has in the past few weeks introduced a host of new flights from Mumbai to Madurai, Jammu (via Srinagar), Dehradun, Guwahati, Jaipur, Amritsar, Mangalore, Coimbatore besides additional frequencies to Chennai, Delhi, Patna, Hyderabad and Kolkata. The airline also ramped up its operations from Delhi recently with additional frequencies on the Delhi-Patna-Delhi and Delhi-Bengaluru-Delhi sectors besides connecting both Delhi and Mumbai better.

With the new flights, passengers from Bengaluru, Chennai, Gorakhpur, Srinagar, Vishakhapatnam and Kochi will be able to easily travel to a host of other cities both on SpiceJet’s domestic as well as international network via Mumbai and Delhi. Bookings are now open on www.spicejet.com, SpiceJet’s mobile app and through online travel portals and travel agents.
