  • Three Day International Symposium on Ocean Technology at CUSAT

    KOCHI:
    Department of Electronics of the Cochin University of Science and Technology and Center for Ocean Electronics will
    jointly organize a three day International symposium on Ocean Technology (SYMPOL-2019) from December 11 to 13, sponsored by the Naval Research Board, University Grants Commission, Science and Engineering Research Board, Ministry of Earth Sciences, Council for Scientific & Industrial Research and IEEE Kerala section.

    Dr M. Sudhakar, Director, CMLRE will inaugurate the symposium at 10:00 a.m. on 11 th December 2019 at the
    Electronics Department auditorium. Vice-Chancellor Dr K. N. Madhusoodanan will preside over the meeting. Dr. Gopu R. Potty, Professor, University of Rhode Island, USA will deliver the keynote address on the topic ‘Effects of Climatic change on underwater accoustics’.

    The Symposium on Ocean Technology (SYMPOL) is a biennial event, started in 1991 and SYMPOL – 2019 is the fifteenth symposium of this series. SYMPOL – 2019 intends to discuss the highly sophisticated and innovative underwater electronic systems for identifying, recognizing and extracting the tremendous potential and resources available in the Ocean. Original research papers in the areas such as Signal Processing, Navigation, & Communication, Underwater Image Processing, Ocean Structures & Machine Learning will also be presented by working engineers/scientists from various Laboratories, Universities, etc. As a part of the symposium, the Department of Electronics in association with IEEE Kerala Section and CoreEL Technologies, Bangalore, is organizing a Workshop on Software Defined SoC and Xilinx ML Suite on 13 th December 2019.
